Litein tea farmers protest Sh18 bonus payment

A section of tea farmers supplying Litein Tea Factory has staged a demonstration at the factory, protesting the Sh18 bonus payment announced by the Kenya Tea Development Agency. The farmers temporarily stopped plucking tea and demanded an explanation from the factory’s management, saying the bonus is too low. The farmers have called on the factory’s directors to address their concerns, warning that they will stage another protest on Monday if their grievances are not addressed.
