Description (show more)
The search and rescue operation following the collapse of an 18-storey building along 9th Street in Eastleigh, Nairobi, has entered its second day, with distressed families gathering at the site in desperate wait for news of their loved ones. As Mary Muoki reports, rescuers and disaster management teams at the scene say communication with people trapped beneath the rubble has been cut off, likely due to drained phone batteries, heightening anxiety and anguish among families.
