Opposition unity takes centre stage at Karua funeral

The race to unite Kenya’s opposition and settle on a single candidate to challenge President William Ruto in 2027 took centre stage at the funeral of Jackson Karua, father of PLP leader Martha Karua. Opposition leaders used the gathering to make their positions known, with some warning that anyone who breaks ranks and joins President Ruto’s camp could be viewed as betraying the opposition and its supporters.
