Kisii Grand Prix Chess Championship crowns junior players

It was pomp and colour in Kisii County as junior chess players were crowned at the Grand Prix Kisii Chess Championship, held at the Kisii Agricultural Training Centre grounds. The tournament brought together players from Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and the United States, alongside key stakeholders, including the Chess Kenya Federation, in a bid to nurture young talent through the sport. Organisers also announced plans to engage international coaches to train learners, a move expected to strengthen chess development and expose young players to international standards.
