Today we share the powerful and heartbreaking story of our guest, Catherine Wangechi, a mother of five. Her journey began with unimaginable challenges—at just 14 years old, she became pregnant with her first child. While still attending school, Catherine encountered a man who threatened her, and out of fear, she gave in to his demands. She later became pregnant and was forced to live with him. Life was extremely difficult—he resorted to stealing food just to survive, and eventually involved her in his criminal activities, including breaking into people’s homes. One day, he took her along to steal a gas cylinder. Catherine pretended to withdraw money from an M-Pesa agent while he committed the theft. Unfortunately, they were caught and severely beaten by a mob. Despite this, he continued his criminal behavior, even conning shopkeepers. When their child was only six months old, Catherine became pregnant again. He moved her to Kiambu, where she was isolated and forbidden from making friends. Her friends took her to a client who paid them behind her back. She was unknowingly taken to a room filled with hidden cameras and filmed while entertaining the client. Tragically, the footage was later shared on Telegram, shattering her life. A friend later showed her the video, and Catherine was devastated.
