Description (show more)
The officer commanding Lumakanda police station has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl in Kikaren, Kakamega county. The girl’s parents allege the officer went to their home during a night raid on illicit brew and advised them to hide at a nearby pub. They say they returned shortly after and allegedly found the officer inside the house with their daughter. The family claims they recovered two condoms beside the bed, one allegedly used. The parents claim that when found out, the officer threatened to shoot them and offered them 20,000 shillings to buy their silence. Lumakanda DCC has confirmed the arrest, saying the suspect was arrested yesterday evening and appeared before the Kakamega Law Courts today. Police and IPOA are investigating the allegations, with investigators expected to establish what happened and examine the evidence recovered from the scene.
