We Grew Organic Butternuts for the First Time, How Much We Sold For, What Worked & Mistakes to Avoid
Description (show more)
Our first butternut harvest is finally here💚 In this episode, I’m taking you through our entire butternut journey at Kanya Farm ,from preparing the land and planting our first seeds, to watering, feeding, dealing with pests and diseases and eventually harvesting three and a half months later. It was a beautiful harvest, but we definitely made some mistakes along the way. 😂 I share what worked for us, what we would do differently next time, how we handled the butternuts after harvesting and the reality of finding a market, including being offered as little as Ksh 28 per kg before eventually selling directly to you at Ksh 100 per kg. There’s still so much we’re learning about farming, and that’s exactly why I want to keep documenting the journey ,the wins, the mistakes and everything in between. Thank you so much to everyone who ordered our butternuts and shared their feedback💚
