President William Ruto has warned the political class against dragging police into partisan contests, inciting violence, or asking officers to carry out unlawful instructions. Speaking during the passing-out parade for General Service Unit officers at the National Police College Embakasi B Campus, Nairobi, the President said the police must secure the democratic space impartially as the country heads to the 2027 General Election. The Head of State also outlined a 30-billion-shilling police modernization program and major welfare reforms.
