Description (show more)
Kenya has confirmed its 3rd case of Ebola, a 65-year-old woman said to be related to the 1st and the 2nd case. In a statement, the Ministry of Health said the suspect has been in quarantine since the 6th of this month, and samples taken from her tested positive in both the National Virology Reference Laboratory and the Kenya Medical Research Institute Laboratory. The patient has since been transferred to the Infectious Disease Unit where she is receiving supportive care. In the meantime, the ministry is assuring Kenyans that the risk remains low as there is no evidence of community transmission but urges vigilance.
