Pamoja AFCON venues to be handed over to CAF ahead of 2027 tournament
Description (show more)
The Local Organising Committee for the 2027 Pamoja Africa Cup of Nations will hand over all facilities to the Confederation of African Football, CAF, ahead of the tournament in June and July 2027. The facilities include the main match venues — the Raila Odinga Stadium at the Talanta City Sports Complex and the Kasarani Stadium. Training facilities, including the Police Sacco Stadium, Ulinzi Sports Complex, the three Kasarani Annex pitches and the Nyayo National Stadium, are also expected to be ready by then. The National Assembly Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare visited the Nyayo National Stadium with a clear mission to assess its status, ongoing and outstanding works, occupational safety and health, as well as access, security and emergency preparedness. The committee recommended improvements to access for persons with disabilities. Local Organising Committee chairman Nicholas Musonye says CAF’s recommendations are similar to those of the senators, but also include proper floodlights and levelling of the pitch.
