2027 London Marathon to feature elite races on separate days

Description (show more)

The 2027 London Marathon will be run over two days, on Saturday 24th April and on Sunday 25th April on the streets of London. London Marathon has adopted the unique new programme where the elite men and women's marathons will be run on separate days. Up until 2026, the men and women marathon were run on the same day, but 2027 will see the two separated but run on the same course at the same time but on two different days. The one-off marathon weekend will begin with the elite men’s and elite men's wheelchair races on Saturday 24 April, whilst the elite women’s and elite women’s wheelchair races will take place on the second day on Sunday 25 April. The decision was settled by 2026 London Marathon champions and world-record holders Sebastian Sawe, who broke the historic two-hour barrier in London last year, and Catherine Debrunner, a four-time London champion and the current women’s wheelchair marathon record holder.
