A bus driver has been charged with 12 counts, including two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, following a fatal accident that claimed the lives of two Technical University of Mombasa students in August. Appearing before the Nyando Law Courts on Thursday, Jotham Wanjala pleaded not guilty to all 12 counts, which had been approved by the Director of Public Prosecutions. Wanjala also faces 10 counts of driving without due care and attention, arising from injuries sustained by 10 passengers in the accident. The case will be mentioned on November 5, 2026.
