A multi-stakeholder disaster management team comprising Nairobi County and national government authorities has allowed tenants of a condemned building in Riruta Satellite, Nairobi, phased access to retrieve their household belongings. Nairobi County Disaster Management Chief Officer Bramwell Simiyu confirmed that the exercise is being conducted under close supervision to ensure the safety of tenants. This follows the discovery of dangerous cracks in the multi-storey building by experts on Saturday, prompting an evacuation order.
