Waiguru urges Mt. Kenya voters to reject intolerance
Description (show more)
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru is urging Mount Kenya residents to reject political intolerance and embrace peaceful engagement ahead of the 2027 General Election. Speaking during the burial of Mzee Joseph Nduati Kamachu, father of Nominated Senator Veronica Maina, in Murang’a County, Waiguru said political competition should never be an excuse for violence, intimidation or disrespect. She challenged voters to look beyond the popularity of political parties and scrutinise individual leaders based on their track records. Her call was echoed by other leaders, who urged residents to engage in peaceful political discourse and make informed choices as the country heads towards the 2027 elections.
