Quickmart owners pocket KSh 15 billion as supermarket lists at NSE
Description (show more)
It is a big day for the family behind Quickmart as the supermarket chain they started in Nakuru years ago rings the bell at the Nairobi Securities Exchange. Founded by the late John Kinuthia and his wife Zipporah, Quickmart has grown from a family business into one of Kenya’s largest retailers. The listing will see shareholders sell half of their ownership to the public for KSh 15 billion, with the Kinuthia family alone set to receive close to KSh 5 billion. Jasmine Wambui reports.
