How Ruto’s Sh700bn Nyanza pledges could be funded

Last week, President William Ruto promised residents of the Nyanza region projects worth 700 billion shillings during an extensive tour of the area. However, just what does it take to convert presidential promises into reality, complete with facilitative budgets? Now, the Controller of Budget, Dr. Margaret Nyakang’o, says the pronouncements must be funded through a process that could require budgetary shifts where possible or emergency funding if justifiable.
