Orengo backs LDP as opposition eyes joint candidate for 2027 election

Siaya Governor James Orengo has unveiled the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) as his political vehicle for the 2027 elections, saying it will work with other opposition parties to challenge President William Ruto. Orengo says the opposition intends to field a single presidential candidate to face Ruto in the 2027 polls. Meanwhile, Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka says he is ready to challenge President Ruto if the opposition coalition selects him as its presidential flag bearer.
