The High Court in Kitui has suspended the Migwani by-election for 30 days, disrupting the electoral process on the very day candidates presented their nomination papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). The court order follows a petition by Kitui political activist Musili Kauta challenging the appointment of area MCA Harrison Maluki as the new Kitui County Assembly Clerk.
