Lamu refinery project faces court challenge
Description (show more)
The planned construction of the proposed oil refinery in Lamu has run into trouble, with residents moving to court to block the project. The court challenge comes just days before the planned groundbreaking on Wednesday. In a petition filed at the Environment and Land Court in Malindi, the residents are seeking compensation for their land. This comes as construction equipment for the KSh 2 trillion facility began docking at the Port of Lamu over the weekend. Jasmine Wambui reports.
