U.S. ambassador nominee to Kenya Henry Wooster has told the U.S. Senate that the U.S. government is concerned about political stability in Kenya ahead of next year's General Election, saying Washington will not take any political sides. During his vetting, Wooster also raised concerns about corruption at the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA), saying it has had a damaging impact on vulnerable Kenyans who have been denied access to proper medical care. He reiterated that the U.S. government has undertaken critical audit requirements aimed at ensuring accountability in the medical supplies tendering process.
