This 76 Year Old American Built a Container Home in Kenya, Grows Her Food & Shares Her Life Lessons

There are some people you meet and immediately know there is so much you can learn from them. Dorris is 76 years old, American by birth, but today she calls Kenya home. She has created a beautiful and simple life for herself in Nyahururu, where she lives in a stunning container home surrounded by a beautiful garden, grows much of her own food and has embraced a slower, more intentional way of living. But perhaps the most beautiful thing about Dorris is her outlook on life. After 76 years of living, she has experienced enough to know what matters, what doesn’t, what is worth holding onto and what we sometimes need to let go of. In this episode, we spend time in her home, walk through her garden and sit down for a beautiful conversation about Kenya, ageing, forgiveness, happiness, relationships and some of the greatest lessons life has taught her along the way.
