Description (show more)
The compensation panel for victims of police brutality is urging Kenyans who are yet to register their grievances and claims of compensation to do so within the next two weeks. The panel whose mandate expires on November 14th IS mulling requesting an extension. The panel says it has so far compensated more than one thousand victims, disbursing KSH 1.2B . But as Mary Muoki reports, families who lost loved ones say financial compensation is only one step towards justice, with the family of Rex Masai demanding accountability for his death and fast tracking of the court case.
