Isaac Mwaura: This govt is keen on protecting the welfare of youth, women, PWDs and minority groups
Description (show more)
The Head of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Disability Rights, Isaac Mwaura, has said the government prioritised women, youth, ethnic minorities and persons with disabilities as key focus groups during its campaign, leading to the establishment of specialised offices within the Executive Office of the President. Speaking during the Diversity Benchmarking Focus Group Discussion at the African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) in Nairobi on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Mwaura said the offices, including the Minorities and Marginalised Unit and the Women’s Rights Agency, are mandated to coordinate inclusion efforts through a whole-of-government approach rather than directly implement programmes. He emphasised that their role is to provide overall oversight and ensure government institutions work collectively to advance the needs and rights of these groups.
