Sharon Otieno’s parents plead for leniency for Okoth Obado

The parents of the late Sharon Otieno have today pleaded with the court to save convicted murderer, ex- migori governor Okoth Obado from a life or death sentence and instead give him a non custodial sentence. Addressing the court during a hearing to determine what sentence the ex governor and his two co-convicts will get, the two said a life imprisonment or a death sentence would not be acceptable to them as they had already forgiven the former leader and had sought reconciliation over the brutal murder of their daughter. At the same time Sharon’s father continued to express deep anger at the other convicts, Michael Juma Oyamo and Caspal Ojwang Obiero.
