Eastern Regional Commissioner vows crackdown on illegal donkey slaughter

Eastern Regional Commissioner Jacob Muganda has vowed to intensify the crackdown on illegal donkey slaughter in the region, saying the Kithyoko abattoir in Machakos County will remain closed unless the government directs otherwise. Speaking at his Embu office during a visit by residents from Kitui, Machakos and Makueni counties, Muganda said authorities will also pursue individuals involved in the illegal trade of donkey hides.
