Players don’t need to download Gates of Olympus by Pragmatic Play from an app store. The game opens inside a phone browser, which means it has to travel across the internet each time. In September 2026, we used an emulated Android phone to open the Olympus slot game and recorded every file the game requested before the first spin. We also ran the same test on a lighter version of the game that day so we could compare the results.

THE CONTEXT
A browser slot is like a webpage. When it opens, the phone sends a request to the casino server and waits for the game files to come back. If the server is slow or the connection drops, the loading screen freezes and the session ends before a single spin.
Jabula Bets uses a network of servers worldwide, so game files don’t have to travel halfway around the world to reach the player. This doesn’t matter much for a small, lightweight game. On Pragmatic Gates of Olympus, which sends 192 requests and transfers 42 MB of data every second, even a small time savings in transit can add up and keep the opening wait under a minute.
THE MEASUREMENT
We opened the Gates of Olympus demo in a browser set to look and behave like a standard Android phone. From the moment the page started loading to the moment the reels were ready to spin, we captured every file the game requested. The chart below shows how that 42 MB is divided, next to the much lighter Habanero game we tested on the same day.
Most of the file is game data, which is 25.3 MB. This comes in 37 separate packages. Each one has image atlases, animation instructions and information about the settings for every visual effect in the game. Also, pictures take up 9.1 MB, the game engine code takes up 5 MB, and the remaining 2.7 MB is used for fonts, configuration and small supporting files.

The large size matches what the game actually does on screen. Animation effects, growing multipliers and cascading wins all need data to run properly. If a game uses more of the screen, it will send more files. This means that the casino platform that delivers them will have more responsibility.

The RTP figure is worth another look. Pragmatic Play sets 96.50% as the standard, but each casino can choose a lower setting. The exact figure that Jabula Bets uses is shown inside the game info panel. In a game where losing streaks can happen often, it’s smart to check that number before spending real money.
THE CONNECTION
A file that is four times larger takes roughly four times longer to arrive on the same internet connection. When the signal is strong, the game will be ready in about 25 to 30 seconds. On a normal 4G connection, it takes between 35 and 45 seconds. On 3G, which is still a common signal in many parts of South Africa, the wait can be more than two minutes.
Google studied 11 million mobile sessions and found that a page that takes ten seconds to load sends 123 per cent more visitors away compared to a page that loads in one second. A high-resolution flagship phone and a basic budget phone receive the same files, and the image is scaled to fit each screen. Only the visual sharpness changes.
In portrait mode the 6 by 5 grid, the spin button, the balance display and the multiplier counter all fit on a single screen with no scrolling needed. The buttons are large enough to press with one thumb. The cascade animations run smoothly on a typical mid-range Android phone without overheating during a regular session.
THE METHOD
The slot demo Olympus page at Jabula Bets runs the same Pragmatic Play engine as the real money version of the game. Load time, screen layout and animation quality in the demo are the same as they would be in a paid session. Going through a short checklist in demo mode before any deposit covers the main things worth knowing.
