NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 29 – Kenyan travellers can now buy international mobile data packages through the Kwetu eSIM Mini App on the Safaricom M-PESA Super App.

The integration allows users to purchase and activate eSIM data packages using their M-PESA balances without requiring international debit or credit cards.

Kwetu eSIM offers data packages covering more than 200 destinations, allowing travellers to activate connectivity before departure and use mobile data after arriving at their destination.

“Travelers want instant, reliable data without the friction of physical SIM swaps or complicated payment methods,” said Kevin Mwando, General Manager at Kwetu eSIM.

“By bringing Kwetu eSIM into the M-PESA Super App, we are making global connectivity as effortless as sending money back home.”

The service allows users to keep their primary Safaricom numbers active for calls and SMS while using Kwetu eSIM for data through partner networks in different destinations.

Users can choose local, regional, including East African Community bundles, or global data plans depending on their destination and travel period.
