NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 28 – CFAO Mobility Kenya Limited sold more vehicles than Isuzu East Africa in August, latest data from the Kenya Motor Industry Association (KMIA) shows.

CFAO sold 683 units during the month, slightly higher than the 681 units sold by Isuzu East Africa.

CFAO had sold 617 vehicles in July, while Isuzu led the market with 734 units, meaning its sales declined in August.

Simba Corporation ranked third in August sales with 108 units, followed by Tata Holdings Africa with 62 units, Scania East Africa with 17, Crown Motors with 14 and Inchcape Kenya with 13.

Salvador and Caetano Kenya each sold seven units, while Nelion Trading Limited and Mobikey Truck and Bus recorded no sales during the month.

KMIA said the industry’s performance was primarily driven by government fiscal intervention, particularly the mobilisation of Sh139 billion to clear contractor bills and restart road projects, which boosted demand for heavy commercial vehicles.

Cumulatively, local firms sold 1,592 units in August, a slight decline from the 1,677 units sold in July.
