Tusker Oktobafest brought its nationwide celebration of Kenyan beer, music, and culture to the Coast this past weekend, lighting up 1922 in Nyali.

The event marked the second coastal stop of the campaign, wrapping up October’s peak festival calendar after successful runs in Eldoret, Nanyuki, and Nairobi.

The night kicked off with a performance from rising music collective Keteh, an outfit nurtured under the Base to Billboardz initiative, who debuted their high-tempo party track, “Umebant.” Gengetone powerhouse Ssaru followed, commanding the stage with an electrifying set that prepared the floor for hip-hop heavyweights Wakadinali. The trio, composed of Scar Mkadinali, Domani Munga, and Sewersydaa, joined by Sir Bwoy, closed the night with a powerhouse performance featuring the gritty street anthems that have solidified their place at the top of Kenya’s music scene.

With free entry, the gathering drew hundreds of revelers to sample Kenya Breweries Limited’s (KBL) portfolio, covering lagers, stouts, ciders, and malts.

Speaking on the reception in Nyali, KBL Marketing Manager Rediet Yigezu noted that the strong regional turnout validates the company’s push to bring premier festival experiences directly to regional hubs.

“The overwhelming turnout at today’s event and previous editions across the country is a testament to the growing demand for authentic, local experiences that are accessible to consumers wherever they are,” Yigezu said. “It reaffirms our decision to scale the festival into a truly nationwide celebration. We are excited to extend this momentum beyond October to connect with even more of our consumers.”

Rather than closing with the end of October, Oktobafest will continue its tour through November with several regional stops:

  • Nov. 7: Nebraska Lounge, Ugunja
  • Nov. 14: Space Next Door, Nakuru
  • Nov. 21: Big Tree Beach Club, Mombasa

Beyond the live circuit, KBL has rolled out retail promotions, flash sales, and e-commerce discounts covering flagship brands including Tusker Lager, Tusker Malt, Tusker Lite, Tusker Cider, Guinness, Balozi, Manyatta, WhiteCap, and Pilsner.
