Health CS Aden Duale Saturday toured Garissa County, where he inspected some of the ongoing development projects in the region, reaffirming Kenya Kwanza’s government commitment in improving livelihoods of the people across the country.

Duale underscored the principle of collective responsibility in government, aimed at fast tracking government projects and programmes, under the Bottoms-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

The CS visited the Garissa Township Affordable Housing project set deliver  407 housing units, where 70 percent of the units are already completed, awaiting commissioning by President Dr. William Ruto in December.

Duale said the development will expand access to dignified and affordable housing for residents of Garissa Township.

The CS also inspected the newly completed 150-metre Garissa–Tana River Bridge at a cost of Sh1.8 billion, along the Ukasi–Garissa–Modika corridor within Garissa Township.

He said the flood-resistant bridge replaces the ageing structure that served the region for 43 years, easing a long-standing bottleneck and improving safety, connectivity and movement to North Eastern Kenya.

The projects underscore the government’s commitment to inclusive development, ensuring that communities across the country including North Eastern Kenya, benefit from improved infrastructure, better housing and greater opportunities for growth
