Police in Githurai, Kiambu County, are investigating the killing of an unidentified middle-aged man who was stabbed during a confrontation over a mobile phone.
The incident occurred on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at about 12.30am near Eriwa Medical Centre in Githurai Sub-County.
According to the owner of the medical centre, two men were seen walking beside the facility while quarrelling before they started fighting.
Police said one of the men, who was demanding a mobile phone from the other, allegedly drew a knife and stabbed his counterpart in the abdomen before fleeing the scene.
The victim sustained severe injuries and bled to death.
Officers who responded to the incident found the body of the unidentified man lying outside the medical centre with a deep stab wound to the abdomen.
A Redmi mobile phone was recovered at the scene and taken as an exhibit. The suspected murder weapon was not found.
The Crime Scene Investigation team processed and documented the scene before the body was moved to the Nairobi City County Funeral Home.
The body is being preserved pending identification and a postmortem examination.
Police have launched efforts to trace and arrest the suspect.
And police in Taita Taveta County have arrested four suspects in connection with the death of a 38-year-old man who was found bleeding outside a building in Mwatate.
Fredrick Masholi Saguli was discovered at about 2am on Saturday, October 3, 2026, outside Parklandi Building.
According to police, a man found Saguli bleeding and raised the alarm. The injured man was placed on a motorcycle and rushed towards Mwatate Sub-County Hospital for treatment.
However, the motorcycle reportedly ran out of fuel at Ziwa before reaching the hospital. Saguli was subsequently found unresponsive and was laid down as the area assistant chief was contacted for assistance.
Police officers from Mwatate Police Station, accompanied by scene-of-crime personnel from Voi, visited and processed the scene.
Preliminary examination showed that Saguli had a cut on his right hand, a head injury suspected to have been inflicted with a blunt object and bruises on his back.
His body was moved to the Moi Voi Referral Hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination.
Four suspects have been arrested and are being held in police custody as investigations continue, with police expected to take further action, including possible murder charges
