A 28-year-old man has been fined Sh30,000 or to serve four months in prison for stealing 41 pineapples worth Sh4,100 from Del Monte Farms.
Stanley Kamau Mugure appeared before Kenol Resident Magistrate Delroy Mwasaru, where he pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea.
The court heard that Mugure committed the offence on October 29, 2026, at about 7 pm at Del Monte Farm 4.
Police officers patrolling the area reportedly received information about an intrusion at the farm and rushed to the scene, where they found Mugure carrying 41 pineapples packed in a sack.
During mitigation, Mugure pleaded for leniency, promising not to trespass into the farm again.
The court fined him Sh30,000, with a default sentence of four months in prison. He was also informed of his right to appeal within 14 days.
