THE Project Management Institute and TIME Studios have launched the second series of The Solutionaries, a documentary series showcasing innovators and project leaders turning climate-focused ideas into practical solutions with global impact.
It features three initiatives working across sustainable music, maritime decarbonisation and artificial intelligence. The featured organisations are REVERB, founded by environmentalist Lauren Sullivan and musician Adam Gardner; Seabound, represented by co-founder Alisha Fredriksson; and Amini, founded by technology entrepreneur Kate Kallot.
REVERB works with artists, festivals and venues to reduce the environmental footprint of live music. Since its establishment in 2004, it has supported 400 tours, engaged fans in more than 8.6 million environmental actions and helped address over 464,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions.
Meanwhile, Seabound is developing onboard carbon capture technology for shipping vessels, with its modular system designed to capture up to 95 per cent of carbon dioxide and sulphur emissions from engine exhaust.
Amini is building sovereign artificial intelligence infrastructure to help countries in the Global South strengthen local data ownership and technological capacity. The company has digitised more than 10 million records and trained 15,000 data scientists and developers.
PMI Chief Marketing Officer Menaka Gopinath said the series demonstrates how project management transforms ambitious ideas into measurable progress.
“Projects are how great ideas become real, and the professionals who lead them make that possible,” Gopinath said, highlighting the role of project leaders in delivering climate, economic and social impact.
The launch comes amid growing pressure on organisations to integrate sustainability into their operations. A recent PMI report found that 59 per cent of organisations still struggle to embed sustainability at project and functional levels.
