Mother arrested for blocking child from exams over ‘666’ index number
The woman allegedly stopped her child from sitting the national assessment, claiming the assigned examination number was associated with the devil.
A woman has been arrested in Jomvu, Mombasa County, for allegedly stopping her child from sitting the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) because the learner’s examination index number, 666, was associated with the devil.
Police arrested the woman after school officials reported that she had refused to let the child take the national assessment over the assigned number.
Jomvu Sub-County Police Commander Celina Chirchir said officers went to the woman’s home and arrested her following the report.
