A 36-year-old woman was found dead in a rented house at Kaweru Shopping Centre in Murang’a East Sub-County.

The body of Beatrice Wamuyu Wang’ombe was discovered on Sunday, September 27, 2026, following a report made to Kaweru Police Station at about 10:25am.

Police officers found the woman’s lifeless body lying on a bed.

According to police, the body had no visible physical injuries.

Preliminary information indicated that Wang’ombe had been unwell. Her neighbour reportedly discovered the body after knowing that the deceased had not been feeling well when the two parted ways on Saturday evening.

Police also reported that the deceased had no apparent means of subsistence, although the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear.

The body was moved to Murang’a Level 5 Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending identification and a post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.

And the body of a 32-year-old man who drowned after falling from a boat in Lake Victoria has been recovered in Siaya County.

Derrick Anuno Abidho Aluo drowned on September 25, 2026, after he reportedly fell off a boat while on the lake.

His body was recovered at Wikwang Beach at about 7:30am on Sunday, September 27, according to a follow-up report from Lwanda Kotieno Police Post.

Police officers visited the scene following the recovery and established that the body had no visible injuries.

The deceased’s body was moved to Madiany Sub-County Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a post-mortem examination.

Police investigations into the drowning incident are ongoing.

And a 54-year-old man was found dead in a pit latrine within his family homestead in Tetu Sub-County, Nyeri County.

The body of Cyrus Wamathai Murage was discovered on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at a homestead in the Karunaini area.

Police visited the scene and found Murage’s body lying inside the pit latrine.

Murage had last been seen by his brother on Saturday evening while in good health. His mother discovered the body the following morning.

Police said the body had no visible physical injuries, and the cause of death was not immediately established.

The scene was processed and documented before the body was removed to PGH Nyeri Morgue, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
