Various groups in Khwisero Constituency have received Sh3 million in Uwezo Fund cheques to boost their businesses and livelihoods.

Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka, who presided over the disbursement Monday, urged the beneficiaries to invest the money in viable enterprises that would generate income and create employment.

Aseka said the National Government funding is aimed at strengthening grassroots economic activities by enabling community groups to expand existing businesses or venture into new ones.

He cautioned the beneficiaries against misusing the funds, urging them to adopt sound financial management practices to ensure their investments remain sustainable.

The MP said the success of the initiative would depend on how well the groups planned and managed their ventures, noting that income-generating businesses could help members meet their family needs and improve their living standards.

He further encouraged the groups to work collectively and make informed business decisions to maximise the benefits of the financial support.

Uwezo Fund is a government initiative that provides financing to eligible groups to promote entrepreneurship and widen access to economic opportunities at the grassroots.
