The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has opened loan applications for Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) students pursuing certificate and diploma courses.
The application window opened on August 21 and will remain open until September 30, giving eligible students a chance to apply for financial support to help cover the cost of their studies.
KMTC announced the opening of the application period on Tuesday, August 25, saying the move followed requests from students seeking access to HELB loans.
“When you ask us, we listen. You asked us for a HELB loan. Now, we have some good news for you. The HELB 2026/2027 KMTC Loan Application is now open for students pursuing Certificate and Diploma courses. Application window: 21 August – 30 September 2026,” KMTC said.
HELB Opens Applications for KMTC Students
KMTC students seeking to apply should visit the HELB website and follow the application instructions.
The institution has also encouraged students to submit their applications early to avoid delays associated with last-minute applications.
“Visit www.helb.co.ke, select Products, and follow the application instructions and eligibility requirements. Apply early and avoid the last-minute rush,” KMTC added.
The loans are available to eligible students enrolled in KMTC certificate and diploma programmes.
Applicants must review the eligibility requirements and provide the requested information during the application process before submitting their applications.
For years, KMTC students have largely relied on a revolving fund arrangement, unlike university students who have traditionally accessed loans and scholarships through HELB.
