The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released school-specific reports for the 2025 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA).

In a notice on August 26, KNEC said the reports are available on the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) portal, where schools can log in with their school credentials and download the reports.

“The 2025 KPSEA and KJSEA School-Specific Reports are now available on the CBA Portal for access and download by schools,” stated KNEC.

The Council has directed schools to use the Headteacher profile the access school-specific reports.

KNEC Explains How Schools Can Access KPSEA and KJSEA Reports

KNEC has provided steps schools should follow to access and download the reports.

The process is as follows:

  1. Open the KNEC CBA portal at cba.knec.ac.ke.
  2. Sign in using the school’s credentials.
  1. Before proceeding, confirm that the profile displayed in the top-right corner is Headteacher, as KNEC indicates.
  2. From the Headteacher menu, select School Report.
  3. Select the required report type, either KJSEA or KPSEA. KNEC says the active report will be displayed above the download button.
  4. Click the green Download button to download the report.

According to the Council, the report will download as a PDF and save to the device’s Downloads folder, unless the browser prompts the user to choose a different location.

Schools Must Confirm Report Details

The council has also advised schools to verify the details on the report before using it.

The Council says schools should check three key details to confirm that the report belongs to their institution.

These are:

  • School name
  • Centre code and related details
  • Report type, confirming whether it is the intended KPSEA or KJSEA report

The checks will help schools ensure that they have downloaded the correct report before using or sharing the information.

KPSEA and KJSEA

The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) is the assessment administered by KNEC at the end of Grade 6.

The Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) is administered at the end of Grade 9 under the Competency-Based Curriculum.

The assessments form part of Kenya’s Competency-Based Education system and provide information on learners’ performance at different stages of their education.

The school-specific reports provide institutions with assessment information for learners in their respective centres.

Schools can use the information to review learner performance and better understand the outcomes of the assessments.

The reports can also help schools plan for the next stage of learning and identify areas that may require greater attention.

Schools accessing the reports should ensure they are logged into the correct Headteacher profile before selecting the School Report option.

They should also select the correct assessment (KPSEA or KJSEA) before downloading the document.

After downloading, KNEC advises schools to check the school name, centre code, and report type to confirm that the document is the correct report for their institution.
