KUCCPS Cut-Off Points for Bachelor of Science in Nursing Across Kenyan Universities

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) published cut-off points for various courses, including nursing, across public and private universities.

The points will guide the 2026/2027 placement of 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates.

These cut-off points represent the minimum weighted cluster points attained by the last student admitted to each program during the 2024 KUCCPS placement cycle.

Cluster points, on the other hand, are a KCSE examination graduate’s computed performance in four subjects required for admission to a given degree program against that of the best candidates in the particular KCSE examination year. 

The cut-off points change year-on-year depending on the demand for a specific course, an institution’s capacity, and overall candidates’ performance in the national examinations.

The Bachelor of Nursing is a four-year undergraduate degree. It aims to equip students with the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and competencies needed to become clinical nurse practitioners, educators, and researchers, as well as to take up mid-level management roles in nursing education and healthcare delivery institutions.

Students taking the program are prepared to provide leadership in nursing practice, nursing administration, nursing education, research, and publication in their chosen area of specialization.

They are also equipped to function effectively in a variety of settings where the sick are cared for and where the health of individuals, families, and communities is maintained and promoted.

KUCCPS Cut Off Points for Bachelor of Science in Nursing  

Bachelor of Science in Nursing cut-off points vary widely across universities, according to the latest placement data from the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), with Egerton University recording the highest entry requirement.

Egerton University leads with 42.049, followed closely by the University of Nairobi at 41.935 and Maseno University at 41.836.

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology has set its cut-off at 41.614, while Mount Kenya University’s and Kisii University cut-offs stand at 41.325 and 41.164, respectively.

Chuka University, on the other hand, has a cut-off of 41.023, with Kabarak University at 40.468 and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology at 40.358.
