KUCCPS Reopens Portal for Second Revision Window

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its online application system for the second revision of placement choices to universities and colleges for the 2026/2027 academic cycle.

The revision window targets applicants who did not secure courses during the initial application period, which closed on May 22nd, 2026.

The second revision window is also expected to benefit candidates who wish to revise their course choices in line with their academic performance and career aspirations.

Applicants are required to visit the KUCCPS website, students.kuccps.net, and access the Student’s Portal to complete their applications.

The revision exercise will run from May 27 to May 31.

KUCCPS First Revision Window

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) application system and first revision was opened on May 16 for Form Four leavers to revise their university choices or make new applications, and the system closed on May 22, 2026.

This followed the first application, which ended on May 6, 2026.

Applicants who had secured provisional placement in degree courses were notified via SMS and the KUCCPS portal. Unsuccessful applicants have been invited to revise their choices.

“We call upon all 2025 Form Four leavers who qualified for degree programmes but have not applied for placement, and those who applied but have not secured a course, to log into the system and apply again,” said KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome.

Since the beginning of the applications, a total of 212,510 students who scored C + and above in the 2025 KCSE examination have applied for various courses, accounting for 79.1% of the 268,714 Kenyan Citizens who scored mean grades of C+ and above in the examination.

Some degree programmes such as Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Engineering, among others, were filled in the first application due to high demand as compared to available spaces in the programmes. Hence, they were removed from the portal.

“We encourage students who applied for these programmes but missed them due to competition to apply for available programmes.”

Who Qualifies for KUCCPS Course Revision and Placement

According to KUCCPS the groups eligible for the course revision, include applicants who either missed out on placement or are yet to apply for tertiary programmes.

The revision covers Form Four leavers who applied for Degree, Diploma, and Certificate courses between January and May 2026 but were unsuccessful.

It also includes students who scored a mean grade of C+ and above in the 2025 KCSE but did not submit applications for university or TVET programmes.

In addition, past KCSE candidates from 2000 to 2025 who have never been placed in any tertiary institution through KUCCPS are eligible to apply.

2025 KCSE candidates with C+ and above qualify for Degree programmes
Candidates from 2000–2025 with grades C to E are eligible for TVET courses, including:
- Level 6 (Diploma)
- Level 5 (Craft Certificate)
- Level 4 (Artisan Certificate)
Candidates from 2000–2025 with C+ and above can also apply for degree programmes at the Open University of Kenya

According to KUCCPS data, about 207,308 of 268,714 candidates who attained the minimum university entry grade of C+ (77%) had submitted their applications by May 6, leaving many still awaiting placement.

Step-by-Step Guide to Second Revision:

Visit the official KUCCPS Student Portal: https://students.kuccps.net
Log in using your KCSE Index Number, KCSE Year, and Password (your KCPE Index Number or Birth Certificate Number).
Click on “Application/Revision” or “Programmes” menu.
Review the available courses only programmes with remaining vacancies will be shown.
Carefully select new choices (up to the allowed number of options). Prioritise programmes where your cluster weight is higher than the previous cut-off.
Enter the correct programme codes, review everything, and submit your revised choices.
Pay the required revision fee via M-Pesa if prompted (keep the transaction message/receipt).
Log out after submitting.
