List of Senior Schools Offering Agriculture, Biology and Geography

Grade 10 learners interested in agriculture, environmental studies, natural resource management and related careers can choose from hundreds of senior schools approved to offer the Agriculture, Biology and Geography subject combination under Kenya’s Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.

The combination falls under the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) pathway and is among the subject clusters available to learners transitioning to senior school.

The Ministry of Education has approved thousands of senior schools across the country to offer various STEM subject combinations following assessments and audits conducted ahead of the rollout of the senior school phase.

The schools include national, extra-county, county and sub-county institutions, giving learners a wider range of options based on their career interests and location.

STEM Pathway Supports Agriculture and Environmental Careers

Under the CBE curriculum, Grade 10 learners must take seven subjects. Four are compulsory: English, Kiswahili or Kenyan Sign Language, Mathematics and Community Service Learning.

Learners then select three additional subjects aligned to their preferred pathway and future careers.

The Agriculture, Biology, and Geography combination suits learners aspiring to careers in agricultural science, agribusiness, environmental science, forestry, wildlife management, geography, land surveying, meteorology, conservation, natural resource management, and related fields.
