Step-by-Step Process of Revising Course Applications on KUCCPS Portal

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its application system for Form Four leavers to revise their university and TVET choices or make new applications.

The system will remain open from May 16 to May 22, 2026.

Applicants who have secured provisional placement in degree courses have been notified via SMS and the KUCCPS portal. Unsuccessful applicants have been invited to revise their choices.

When making revisions or applying for the first time, applicants must follow a simple online process through the KUCCPS Student Portal.

How to Revise KUCCPS Courses for University and College Applications

First, candidates should visit the official KUCCPS portal at https://students.kuccps.net/ .

To log in to the Student’s Portal, you need your correct KCSE index number, KCSE examination year, and a password.

The password is either the birth certificate number or the KCPE index number used during KCSE registration.

Once logged in, on the menu bar at the top of the page, click the tab “Programme Lists”. You will see these documents: KMTC Programmes, Degree Cluster Document, Degree Programmes, Diploma Programmes, Certificate Programmes, and Artisan Programmes.

Click any of the above depending on the programmes or institutions that you wish to apply for. The document will be downloaded separately as a PDF. Check the downloaded document for available programmes, programme codes, previous cut-off points, and other information.

Programme Codes

Before you move to the next step, note down the Programme Codes for all the courses that you intend to apply for. Enter new course codes with available slots that align with your KCSE cluster points.

On the dashboard, you will see a summary of the available institutions and courses, as well as the applicant’s registration details.

Back to the portal, on the menu bar, click “Application/Revision”. You will see either one or two forms for submitting the programme codes at different levels (Degree only or Degree and Diploma or Diploma and Certificate or Certificate and Artisan or Artisan only).

Type the programme codes that you noted down earlier in the relevant form. (To minimize errors, you will not be able to copy and paste the programme codes.)

As you type the codes, you will notice that the system will be “Fetching Data” and “Checking Requirements”. Allow these processes to complete before you submit.

Once the system has fetched the required data and completed the eligibility checks, it will display each programme’s full name under its respective code, along with a clear indication of whether the student meets the minimum requirements.

After all the programme data has been fetched and displayed, click SUBMIT.

Courses Choices

Applicants will be expected to make applications by submitting their preferred choices, where a valid choice will constitute a programme code, programme name, and the institution name.

Applicants with an overall grade of C+ and above will be allowed to make a maximum of 6 choices for degree programmes where 1(a), 1(b), and 1(c) must be similar programmes and 4 for diploma programmes.
Applicants with an overall grade of C- and above will be allowed to make a maximum of 8 choices: 4 for diploma and 4 for craft certificate programmes.
Applicants with an overall grade of D and above will be allowed to make a maximum of 8 choices: 4 for craft certificates and 4 for artisan certificate programmes.
Applicants with an overall grade below D will be allowed to make a maximum of 4 choices from artisan certificate programmes.

Payment

After clicking SUBMIT, a pop-up box will display payment instructions. On the pop-up message, click “HERE” to pay the indicated amount.

The system will open a payment page in a new tab. Select your preferred payment method and follow the instructions.

For the M-Pesa Option, follow the provided steps to pay via the Government e-Citizen Paybill Number 222222. Enter the provided account number and pay the indicated amount (Ksh1,500).

After paying, you will receive a confirmation SMS from M-Pesa.

Go back to the application window and enter the account number in the slot written “Payment REF,” then click SUBMIT. [Be careful not to use the M-Pesa transaction code, but the provided Account Number.

Those who had paid the application fee during the main application period will not be required to pay again. The M-Pesa message will serve as proof of the previous payment.
