Inspired by the spirituality of St. Vincent de Paul, the congregation oversees the retreat centre’s prayer, evangelisation and spiritual formation programmes.

The centre holds Friday prayer services every week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., featuring Holy Mass, confession, preaching and healing adoration.

It also hosts five-day residential retreats throughout the year, annual Bible conventions, monthly night vigils, and spiritual counselling sessions from Monday to Thursday.

In addition, VRC Thika offers confession, daily silent adoration, and a Bible Nursery programme for children during school holidays.

History Kisumu Centre

The Vincentian Prayer House Kisumu was established in 2015 after the late Archbishop Zacchaeus Okoth invited the Vincentian Fathers to serve the Diocese of Kisumu following a series of parish renewal retreats.

The ministry was allocated land at Buoye, where the centre was officially inaugurated in May 2015 before beginning operations in August under the leadership of its founding director, Rev. Fr. Joseph Marottiparambil, alongside other Vincentian priests.

It holds silent adoration every Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and offers counselling every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., except on retreat days.

The centre also conducts Saturday prayer services every week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., special deliverance services on the second Saturday of every month during the same hours, and night vigils on the last Friday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Vincentian Retreat Centre Chemelil hosts fasting prayer sessions on the first and last Friday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Members of the public can contact the Vincentian Prayer House Kisumu via WhatsApp at 0748 033 468 or by email at vphkisumu@gmail.com.
