Playing Style

Musa was always a threat to the wings and resembled Jeremy Doku of Manchester City, which strengthened Gor Mahia’s attack force throughout the season.
Awards and Recognition
The 2025/26 SportPesa Kenya Premier League season was the best of Musa’s career so far.
Musa Shariff became a standout player for Gor Mahia as the team went on to win their 22nd league (FKF-PL) title.
After winning the KPL with K’Ogalo, Musa celebrated with his father and dedicated the title to him, describing him as his biggest supporter.
“He keeps me going and he means much to me, so this medal isn’t mine but for him. Mom passed when I was a child but he kept supporting me. Thank you so much dad. I’ve reached this far because of you,” stated Musa.
Shariff’s performances earned him the SportPesa League Player of the Month award in October 2025
“It feels good to be the first winner since the awards returned. I’m hoping for more,” Musa said.
In the SportPesa awards held on Thursday, June 4, Shariff Musa was included in the team of the season after his performance in the 2025/2026 season.

Return to Harambee Stars
Musa’s excellent performance saw him being recalled to the Kenya national team by the head coach, Benny McCarthy, in November 2025 for friendly matches against Equatorial Guinea and Senegal.
This was Sheriff’s second chance with the national team after his first call-up in 2023.
