The survey found that 49 organisations had observed signs of psychological distress among women and girls displaced from the city, while 48 reported that women were unable to sleep because of their experiences.
Women and girls displaced from Sudan's El Fasher are still suffering psychological trauma a year after the city fell to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with 45 of 50 organisations surveyed by UN Women reporting that distress among survivors persists.
Similarly, many survivors are still coping with sexual violence, the deaths of relatives and the disappearance of family members during or after the city's fall. Others have lost their homes and livelihoods and now struggle to find food, water and healthcare.
