Uganda has discharged all 60 people identified as contacts of a Kenyan traveller who tested positive for Ebola after they completed 21 days of monitoring without developing symptoms.

In a statement, Uganda Health Minister Chris Baryomunsi said the contacts had been traced and monitored across different locations, including points of entry and exit, hotels and transport operators involved in the traveller’s movements.

The minister said all the identified individuals completed the mandatory follow-up period without showing signs or symptoms consistent with Ebola virus disease (EVD).
