Dan Kwach has returned to Cassava Technologies. He will be taking up a new role as Executive for AI Data Centres under Africa Data Centres.
Kwach announced the move on LinkedIn. This announcement comes less than a year after he announced his departure from Africa Data Centres after a 19-year career with the organisation. We reported on this back in December 2025.
Kwach previously served as Managing Director for the East Africa region. He was involved in the growth of Africa Data Centres and the wider digital infrastructure ecosystem in the region.
Kwach said his return comes as artificial intelligence continues to raise questions globally about infrastructure, investment and Africa’s role in the emerging AI economy.
“One thing is for sure, we either get a seat on the table when this assessment is happening or be on the menu as a continent,” Kwach said.
He also said there is need for technology to align with Africa’s socioeconomic priorities. These include enterprise growth, innovation, sustainability, security, business resilience, trade, job creation and productivity.
Kwach’s return puts him back within the Cassava Technologies ecosystem at a time when demand for infrastructure capable of supporting AI workloads is becoming an increasingly important part of the data centre industry.
He did not provide any details regarding the scope of his new role.
