The Kiambu County Public Service Board has announced 300 vacancies for Registered Nurse III positions in the Department of Health Services.
In a notice on August 19, Kiambu County stated that the positions are classified under Job Group CPSB 11 (H) and will be offered on a contract basis, with salaries set in accordance with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) guidelines.
“County Governments Act 2012 outlines the functions of the CPSB, among them being “appoint persons to hold or act in offices of the county public service including in the Boards of cities and urban areas within the County and to confirm appointments
Pursuant to the above constitutional and legal provision, the Board invites applications from suitably qualified persons who wish to be considered for the positions listed below in the Department of Health Services,” read part of the notice.
Kiambu County Sets August 28 Deadline for 300 Nursing Jobs
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens and hold a diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing or Kenya Registered Midwifery.
They must also have a registration certificate and a valid practicing license issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Experience in midwifery and theatre nursing will be an added advantage. Applicants must also demonstrate an understanding of the values and principles of the Constitution, possess good interpersonal and communication skills, and be proficient in computer applications.
The successful candidates will be responsible for assessing patients, planning and implementing nursing interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes.
Their duties will also include the following:
- Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient outcomes.
- Providing healthcare services, including integrated management of childhood illnesses (IMCI), family planning, immunization, PMTCT, antenatal care and delivery.
- Providing health education and counselling to patients, clients and the community on identified health needs.
- Referring patients and clients appropriately.
- Facilitating patient admissions and initiating discharge plans.
- Maintaining records on patients’ and clients’ health conditions and care.
- Ensuring a clean, tidy and safe clinical environment.
- Collecting and compiling data.
- Performing any other lawful duties assigned from time to time.
How to Apply
Applicants must complete and submit Application for Employment Form 26H, which can be downloaded from the Kiambu County Government website.
Hand-deliver completed applications and place them in the designated box at the County Public Service Board offices, Room 103, first floor, Thika Sub-County offices.
The offices will receive applications between 8 am and 5 pm on weekdays.
The application deadline is Friday, August 28, 2026.
Only shortlisted candidates will be required to present their original identification, academic and professional certificates, and clearance documents from the Kenya Revenue Authority, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Higher Education Loans Board and Credit Reference Bureau.
The positions will be offered on a contract basis, with salaries set in accordance with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) guidelines.
