The Parliamentary Service Commission has announced 12 opportunities under the 2027 Parliamentary Pupillage Programme for law graduates seeking practical legal training.

In a notice on August 20, the Parliamentary Service Commission stated that the six-month programme is scheduled to begin on February 1, 2027, with successful applicants undertaking their pupillage at the Parliament of Kenya.

“The Parliament of Kenya is one of the institutions set out in the Council of Legal Education (Admission) Regulations, 2007, as an institution in which students of the Kenya School of Law may undertake their pupillage program with the Parliament of Kenya for a period of six (6) months. The Parliamentary Service,” read part of the notice.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must hold a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree with at least an Upper Second Class Honours from a recognized university and have secured admission to the Kenya School of Law for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Applicants must also demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili, with a minimum grade of B plain in both subjects.

The Commission also requires candidates to demonstrate a proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work as part of a team while meeting set timelines.

Computer literacy is also a requirement.

Documents Required for the Parliamentary Pupillage Programme

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

  • A duly completed Parliamentary Service Commission Job Application Form (Form 1J)
  • A copy of the Kenya School of Law admission letter
  • Certified copies of academic certificates
  • Certified copies of testimonials

All documents should be clear, properly arranged and combined into a single PDF file before submission.

How to Apply

Applicants seeking consideration for the 2027 Parliamentary Pupillage Programme are required to complete the Parliamentary Service Commission Job Application Form, Form 1J.

The form can be downloaded from the Parliament of Kenya website or obtained from the Commission’s reception desk at the Ground Floor, County Hall, Parliament Buildings, Nairobi, during office hours.

Applicants should attach the following documents:

  • A completed Parliamentary Service Commission Job Application Form (Form 1J)
  • A copy of the Kenya School of Law admission letter for the 2026/2027 academic year
  • Certified copies of academic certificates
  • Certified copies of testimonials

All the documents should be combined into one PDF file and sent by email to recruitment.pupils@gmail.com.

The Parliamentary Service Commission must receive applications by September 21, 2026.

The Parliamentary Service Commission will not accept hard-copy applications. It also cautioned that it will not consider applications submitted without the prescribed Form 1J.
