Kenya’s comedy industry has been dominated by several digital creators, but one person has stood out as unique and consistent: Crazy Kennar.
Kennedy Odhiambo, popularly known as Crazy Kennar, has grown from a young boy fascinated by performance into one of Kenya’s most recognized digital entertainers.
The comedian, actor, content creator, and entrepreneur has built a massive following through relatable comedy, storytelling, and social commentary that captures everyday Kenyan experiences.
Crazy Kennar Early Life, Education and Start of Comedy
Kennedy Odhiambo was born on December 23, 1998. Crazy Kennar grew up in Lucky Summer, Nairobi, in a family where humor was part of everyday life.
In an interview with Phil Director, Kennar revealed that comedy runs in his family, describing his family, including his father, as naturally funny and saying his creative side was influenced by the environment he grew up in.
His journey in performance began while he was still a child. Kennar attended Sacred Heart Primary School in Baba Dogo, Nairobi, where he joined the drama club in Class Three.
His first major acting role was playing Joseph in a biblical play, an experience that introduced him to stage performance. By Class Seven, his talent had become more visible after being recognized as the best actor during drama competitions. He continued performing plays and narratives in Class Eight.
Despite his creative talent, Kennar described himself as a playful student who was often listed among noise makers in school.
After primary school, he was expected to join Dagoretti Boys High School, but his parents opted for Ringa Boys High School in Homa Bay due to their perception of schools in the countryside. At Ringa Boys, Kennar became actively involved in the drama club, where he further developed his acting and storytelling skills.
At Ringa Boys, he met Stanley Omondi, who is still a friend to date and a creative partner.
He later scored an A- in his KCSE examinations and joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) to study Actuarial Science.
After completing high school, Kennar briefly worked as a teacher at a local school in Lucky Summer, where he taught Kiswahili before venturing fully into content creation.
Kennar revealed that the wages he was paid at the school were used to buy cheap suits and share them with his family.
His brother later introduced him to YouTube while he was at university.
In 2023, Kennar enrolled in a film school. He is currently studying at AFDA School for the Creative Economy in South Africa, an institution specializing in film, television, performance, creative writing, and other creative industries.
Kennar has a girlfriend called Natalie Asewe who is a fashion designer. Together, they have a one-year-old kid named Chloe.

Crazy Kennar’s comedy career began taking shape during his university years at JKUAT. His early skits were inspired by experiences from high school, campus life, and everyday interactions among young Kenyans.
Through his platform Tales of Crazy Kennar, he created short videos that captured familiar situations involving family, relationships, education, and social behavior.
At the time, Kennar made videos with Stanley Omondi, Yvonne Khisa, Bushar Sakshi, and Useful Idioty.
His ability to turn ordinary experiences into humorous stories helped him gain a large following across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms.
His first-ever gig, Odiambo stated that a guy approached him to offer 70, 000 for 70 videos, something that he thought was easy, but the deal was not closed after assessment by the client.
Later, he was offered a gig by DSTV and was given a cheque. The money was used to buy his first camcorder and a tripod stand.
In recent years, Kennar has moved beyond traditional comedy by creating videos touching on leadership, government, education, corruption, and social issues. Through this, the relatable social issues, especially on government, have earned him global recognition.
He has created a fanbase in a way that, immediately after he posts a comedy video, the skit will go viral with millions of views within 24 hours.
His income sources are social media monetization, brand partnerships, advertising deals, content production, and business ventures.
Through brand partnerships, Kennar has worked with Kenya Airways, Bolt, Betika, Odoo, and Safaricom.
He owns a Mercedes-Benz and a Toyota Prado. His Actual net worth is not publicly disclosed.
Crazy Kennar Latest Viral Videos
Kennar staged his first-ever show called “Happy Country,” held at the Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) on December 16, 2023, which drew a massive sold-out.
Later, on December 14, 2024, he staged his second edition of Happy Country at Kasarani Indoor Arena, which 4,213 people attended.
He also produced his first movie called My Name is Omosh, which was screened on February 14, 2025. He has also produced the second film called Iscariiot. Currently, he is working on the third film called Ethan.
He has also collaborated with both Kenyan and international creatives and actors, including Bien, Awinja, Simple Boy, Black Bonez, and Rayvanny
Among his recent viral videos are currencies in different countries, public transport in different countries, If Africa had a superhero, and name the president.
The videos have gone viral with millions of likes across all platforms.
